The Lesser Goldfinch has a song that varies widely across geographic locations, an example of the dialects that can arise between separate populations of a single bird species. When comparing the spectrographs, notice the visual differences in the recordings at this location, and the recordings of the same species in Arizona in 1987.
Recorded outside Pitzer student garden, 3/3/2023, mid-afternoon.
