About the location.
Adams Hall is a lecture hall on CMC campus. It is situated right next to the Hub, a popular cafe and hangout spot for students across the 5Cs. The hall is one of many buildings lining the main walkway through CMC campus, with the Hub on the east side and classrooms to the west.
About the soundscape. Describe and discuss the soundscape.
The soundscape of this area, especially at a time where students are not in class, is very marking of a college campus. Students are leaving class or going to class, and to do so they have to walk along this walkway. You can hear the voices of students chatting together as they make their way along, and the sound of bikes going by can also be heard. Another feature of this soundscape is the sound of flip-flops walking by, which might act as a soundmark that we are in a warm place like California. At some points you can even hear cars in the distance from the streets nearby. Distant shouts can also be heard, showing that the space that is the walkway is open and sprawling, allowing sound from far away to travel unobstructed.
